Description

The project of structural reinforcement and mechanical, electrical, and architectural refurbishment of the Laureano Echandi building, headquarters of the Costa Rican Social Security Fund, faced the challenge of ensuring seismic safety and operational functionality while preserving its heritage appearance.

Throughout the process, the interventions carried out were documented, and consensus decisions were made to maintain the original architectural identity. Adaptations were carefully made to not diminish the integrity of the heritage, prioritizing a balance between modernization and preservation.

The completion of the project reflects a collaborative effort to maintain the historical and functional character of the building, safeguarding its value both locally and universally and ensuring its continuous use for future generations.
